[edit] I'm not getting my registration key by email
It is important to fill out the registration form completely and accurately or there could be problems. Check your spam folder to make sure your registration email is not in there.

[edit] Steinway Updates 1.01
The 1.01 is an Installer/Updater hybrid. If you already have Steinway Installed, it just updates all components to 1.01. This doesn't "take any number of installs" away.
If you just got Steinway and you havent installed anything yet, you can directly
start with 1.01. (im not fond of incremental update steps) Granted, in future "update"
we will try to change the text that is shown to "update" when we detect a previous install.
This particular update consist mostly bug fixes in the various plugin components,
and does not change the sound programming. This will be part of the 1.02 update,
The revision history appears in the Mac installer, but not in the Windows 1.01

So short version:
You dont have to uninstall 1.0 first
You dont have to uninstall the samples (the updater uses what was there before)
You dont have to backup your "save as default" settings.
[edit] Upgrading from Standard to Professional versions 1.01
First you need to purchase an upgrade serial number. There is an upgrade tab in the sample mananger where you enter your new serial. Please note you need ARIA v. 1.01 or higher to upgrade.

Currently no workaround, will be fixed in 1.1

Possible workaround would be to use the MIDI channel routing facilities in your host (check host manual for details)

Workaround: Close Sample Manager , use explorer (windows) or Finder (mac) to move the perspective to a folder/drive of your choice. Start Sample Manager and use the "locate" option of the perspecitve you have moved

- Windows: check to see if you have Nero INCD installed. (this causes a conflict with Steinway)
- Check to see if you can copy the files directly from the disc into a temporaty folder (this is just a test so that you can see if your os can read off the disc, it will not install the samples) Only Sample Manger can decrypt the .data files
- Check for any scratches on the disc
- try another DVDROM drive
[edit] I get a Crash in Sonar when i choose SteinwayVST_x86.dll
Make sure "First Synth Audio Output" is checked in the "Insert Soft Synth Options" dialog. We are preparing an update for this crash that will rendeer this special step redundant.
[edit] When I open SteinwayVST under Cubase (SX, SX2,3) under a PPC machine i get a blank UI
We are working on a fix for this, but this platform is unsupported

Please go the "Report Technical Issue" . For Windows the link is in the Start Menu, and for Mac users go to: /Library/Application Support/Plogue/Aria/AriaReporter It will create a log on your desktop. Please attach the log to the mail and send it. That will help us identify the issue so we can get back to you.
[edit] How do I get proportional pedaling work?
Make sure you have a continuous controller sustain pedal. Otherwise you won't be able to use proportional pedalling because your pedal will be on/off If you have a continuous pedal, pedal with varying degrees of depression, ranging from the extremes of fully depressed to completely unpressed.
Make sure your continusous sustain pedal is set up properly and working correctly. There should be nothing extra to do if you have a continuous sustain controller.
[edit] Problems authorizing with Cubase VST
Start the Stand Alone as Admin and drag the key to it.
[edit] There are crackles in the sound output
This is often due to disc streaming. First try raising the buffers on the sound card. Also try boosting the Info tab's disc cache from 32kb per file (default) to 64 or 128.. and reload the perspective. Also, try hiding the UI when it plays and that may correct the problem as well.
[edit] Can I Authorize the Authorized Steinway of my music mcomputer does not have an internet connection?
It is easy to authorize it from another computer. Authorization is done by a graphic key. Just register on another machine and receive your unique key copy the graphic key onto a USB key (or bring it across the network) drop in on the app and you're set.

Try the following settings as a start: Classic, mechanical noise 12,sus res 11, symp res 34, +4db high EQ, Ambience decay 53, diff 0, size 45, predelay 93 ms, width 100, quality 100, variation 0, top of the wet fader is in the middle of the dry fader - Classic, mechanical noise 12,sus res 11, symp res 34, +4db high EQ, Ambience decay 53, diff 0, size 45, predelay 93 ms, width 100, quality 100, variation 0, top of the wet fader is level with the middle of the dry fader.
[edit] Is there a Way I can get the Steinway to work in my notation program or other music programs that do not support plug-in hosting?
You can download the following virtual "Garritan Steinway" output MIDI driver that will allow Finale and other music programs to see the Authozied Steinway.
Simply install and the "Garritan Steinway" output MIDI drivers should appear in your MIDI setup. Start your notation program, then Garritan Steinway and in preferences add "Garritan Steinway (in)" to your active MIDI input drivers and the virtual cable shall be active.
Please note: This is for windows only as in OSX there is alread a virtual MIDI driver.
For Mac users: start the standalone Steinway. The Steinway receives midi in the list of midi input devices - preferences - midi devices. Open your notation program and it will appear in your list of midi devices.

PPC is unsupported but we can provide a version that may work if requested (no guarantees as it is in testing).

Yes, minimum requirements are PT 7.3

PPC is unsupported but included to ease the transition to MacIntel. The exception being RTAS which is not currently provided by default on PPC. We can provide PPC Rtas version that may work, must be specifically requested (no guarantees as it is in testing)
